Octillion Highlights Expanding Production Capacity at ACT Expo

The recent Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo smashed records for attendance with nearly 8,500 industry stakeholders attending – 3,000 more than in 2021, and Octillion played a leading role at this year’s show.

In the opening session on battery tech, kicking off ACT Expo, Octillion President Paul Beach served on a panel about advances in batteries. Paul announced that Octillion’s annual production capacity has exceeded 15 Gigawatt hours. He also said that Octillion has 10% of EV market share for batteries in China and highlighted the company’s role in the growing global EV space.

“We are the No. 3 battery-pack maker in China,” Beach said. “The graph line there with electrification is straight up. China has gone all-in on EVs. They have 3 million EV cars on the road and nearly 450,000 electric buses. They’ve made a strategic decision to change their entire fleet to EVs, and India is right behind them.

“It’s great to be able to play a leading role in these markets and to be able to apply our expertise to North America,” Beach said.

Octillion’s North American operations are based in Richmond, California. The company has operations in three countries, including China and India, at 16 locations across two continents.

Among the vehicles powered by Octillion batteries is the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, the top-selling electric vehicle in China. Octillion’s batteries also power India’s electric buses. Other products powered by Octillion batteries include electric trucks produced by Brazilian manufacturer FNM (Fábrica Nacional de Motores). Additionally, Octillion supplies batteries for the energy-storage market. Wyoming-based Orison uses Octillion batteries to store energy for its home-battery system.

During his remarks, Beach highlighted Octillion’s work developing complete battery-pack designs. “We figure out which design works best for you and customize solutions for mass production. Our batteries power more than 650,000 EVs around the world, with more than 5 billion kilometers driven on our systems.”

This year’s ACT Expo was such a success that next year’s show will be moving to the Anaheim Convention Center, May 1-4, 2023. To learn more about ACT Expo, visit https://www.act-news.com.
