Octillion Previews its Latest U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Reno, Nevada
A Special Preview of Octillion's Eighth Global Manufacturing Plant and First in Nevada
We are pleased to provide a preview of Octillion’s most recent manufacturing facility located within the city limits of Reno, Nevada—our second manufacturing facility in the United States. This facility is anticipated to be formally inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to-be-announced at a later date.
The approximately 40,000 square foot facility will be an anchor for the North American EV, off-highway, commercial equipment, marine, and grid storage markets. It will showcase our state-of-the-art battery system manufacturing and technologies, and feature Octillion’s trademark combination of futuristic robotics, sophisticated automation, and human touch labor.
The facility is anticipated to be fully operational in the first half of 2025.
The aforementioned proprietary technologies are predominately created in-house, and an advantageous part of our 1,000+ active and considered patents, across fields.
We will also employ a world-class team of engineers, as well as experienced energy storage workers that add further sophistication and quality assurance with touch-labor on all battery systems. The facility is anticipated to employ approximately 20-30 workers total, both skilled and non-skilled, contributing to both Reno and Nevada's strong economic growth.
Furthermore, our new Reno facility will be a purpose-built production plant that will be scalable for increased demand. It will also be an important service and maintenance hub for battery systems already in the field. And of course, it will employ a highly-skilled team of engineers furthering our mission for battery innovation and sustainability ideals.
“Our Reno facility is an important milestone for Octillion,” commented Paul Beach, Global Co-President. “Our presence in North America continues to expand commensurate with demand from major clients across various end markets. This facility will enable us to not only satisfy certain demand in the U.S., but also provide a bridge for clients looking to advance large-scale co-located factory models either on-campus at their manufacturing facilities, or closely neighboring them, anywhere in the States.”
As a testament to the alacrity of Octillion's factory scaling model, from lease signing to multi-line production, is anticipated to span a rapid six-month period for the Reno facility. Similarly, Octillion can lead our clients in their respective scaling journeys to mass-volume battery system production in typically a six-to-twelve month period in our co-located factory model, depending on size, scale, and custom requirements.
This is Octillion's second U.S. facility, the first is in California's Bay Area in Richmond. Overall, Reno is Octillion's seventh global manufacturing facility. More on our facility portfolio is accessible via this website's Manufacturing page.
More news will follow on the Reno facility in the coming months, including coverage around the formal inauguration.
